When planning this collection, we pulled everything that was art-related from the house and the folders and put it all in one place.  A few stories began to form - we realised that much of the work we had been given was modern.  

We also  have purchased a lot of traditional landscape work and textiles work over the years, many of which are quite old and delicate now.  A lot of this work was purchased to study and learn from as I develop my own art practice.  

As we have moved from house to house, pieces from our collection have been tucked behind each other in frames or into portfolios to keep them safe and dry.  

Now that they have been shown together, they will be hung in new places at home - the family  have claimed more pieces for their rooms and have borrowed pieces from our traditional and textiles collections to fill the gaps where these pieces normally hang.

The YHA South Downs draws visitors from around the world with regular visitors from London and Brighton to visit in the South Downs and the south coast.

The team there have supported my Artists Residency in 2020 and 2021, allowing me amazing freedom and space to make and exhibit new work, paint at scale, use curation to interpret my work in new ways, invite other artists to join me and now for 2022 to continue to develop an arts programme there.
